Ashis Brahma | Storytelling | Public Health care
Utmost by Ashis Brahma
This book grew out of a spiritual friendship between two humanitarian doctors. Ashis Brahma and Elizabeth A. Garcia-Gray met in Chad in 2006, an encounter that led to a long correspondence. In their exchange, they reflect on medicine, responsibility, and their shared search for how to live life to the utmost, guided by love and compassion for humankind.
Ashis Brahma is a tropical medicine physician who has worked with Doctors Without Borders and the International Rescue Committee, serving refugees in crisis settings. At one point, he was the only physician caring for 26,000 Darfur refugees in Chad. He now speaks internationally to raise awareness for the work of the Phoenix Global Humanitarian Foundation, which supports people affected by disaster, loss, and tragedy.
